 Who are we

Established in 2000, We are a 501c3 Not for profit organization Located in beautiful Friendship, NY. Friendship is a small town in upstate NY near Olean NY. Nile, NY is a hamlet of Friendship, NY

We are charted under the NY State education Department as a historical society.

We are incorporated as a Not for Profit organization in NY State. 

The board is composed of 13 active members and we meet the second Saturday of every month.

We are passionate about preserving the history of our Small town and new members are always welcome.

Our Mission

We are a 501c3 Not for profit organization Located in Friendship, NY with the following mission:

 a.   To disseminate and encourage a greater knowledge of the history of Friendship, Nile, and their environs;

b.  To gather, preserve, display, and make available for study artifacts, relics, books, manuscripts, papers, photographs, and other records and materials relating to the history of Friendship, Nile, and the surrounding area;

c.   To encourage the suitable marking of places of historic places;

d.  To acquire by purchase, gift, device, or otherwise the title to or the custody and control of historic sites and structures, and preserve and maintain such sites and structures.

 Location

Friendship is a town in Allegany County, New York, United States. The population was 2,004 at the 2010 census.[3] The town's name was adopted to mark the resolution of earlier conflicts.

Friendship is near the center of Allegany County and is northeast of the city of Olean.

Nile – A hamlet near the south town line on Route 275, at the intersection of County Roads 1 and 34, south of Friendship hamlet. 

Our Future Museum, Gift Shop and community center is located on 18-20 West Main Street in downtown Friendship, NY
